Abstract

Water is one of the most vital natural resources on earth, both in terms of drinking water and its usefulness. Moreover, water resources are one of the main riches of Georgia and are abundantly represented in the country. It is therefore important to know the forms of natural or anthropogenic impact on it. Water bodies that are affected by both natural and anthropogenic impacts are: rivers, lakes, groundwater, seas and oceans.

It is known that the impact on water bodies is mainly related to human activities, but as we will see, the forms of natural impact are no less important. Among the forms of natural impacts are: exogenous and endogenous processes, climatic factors, geomorphological processes (erosion-accumulation), biological (living organisms, soil-vegetation cover), etc. The impact caused by anthropogenic activities is mainly related to industry, which causes surface (wastewater) pollution.

The article discusses the types and consequences of both natural and anthropogenic impacts on water bodies.
