Modern Processes of Natural Movement of Population in the Regions of Georgia
Main Article Content
Abstract
From the point of view of demographic development, the regions of Georgia are more or less different from each other, which is significantly due to fertility, mortality, migration processes, national and age-sexcom-position.Despite the existing differences, the demographic processes taking place in the regions are developing basically like the global demographic processes. This means that as a result of the decrease in fertility and increase in mortality, the natural increase of the population will be close to the zero mark (in some cases, the level of mortality will exceed the level of fertility).
In the analyzed time period (2014-2023), a small (19.4 thousand) increase in the population of Georgia was fixed. The mentioned fact was not unequivocally for the regions of the country. In most of them, the population has decreased.2014-2022The crude birth rate decreased in all regions, while the crude mortality rate increased in most of them. A negative value of the natural increase of population was fixed in all regions.
According to forecast calculations, based on the level of natural in crease of population for 2022, by 2027 population growth is expected in Tbilisi, Adjara, Kakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti and Kvemo Kartli.
