Main Article Content
Abstract
Wine tourism is one of the most popular thematic tourist destinations in wine-producing countries. The wine tourism market offers customers a variety of tourist itineraries, popular mass excursion programs, corporate programs, themed wine tours for small groups, and individual tours. In recent years, mixed tours have gained special popularity.
Wine tourism in Georgia has been actively developing for several years, which is evidenced by the involvement of the local population, the proliferation of wineries, and the organization of more and more wine tours by tourist companies.
The uniqueness of wine tourism is expressed in its complexity: together with wine, you get to know history, culture, people, vineyards, cellars, traditional food, you get to know the people who pressed this wine. Also, by means of wine tourism, large masses of tourists are allocated and distributed in regions, so that many tourists do not gather in one place at the same time.
Wine tourism, its development and marketing is a new phenomenon. It should be noted that there is no unified approach to the development of wine tourism. From a marketing point of view, wine tourism involves identifying the needs of existing and potential customers. Wine tourism brings together consumers who are motivated to have new experiences, travel and learn something new. Therefore, those people who are interested in this issue conduct experiments and look for new findings.
Traditional methods of wine aging are discussed in the article. Aging is of great importance in the case of maximum manifestation of the character of the wine. Deterioration of wine quality is often related to improper storage of wine. The quality of the wine itself depends on the correct composition of the wine, as well as how long this or that wine will last and grow old.
The article talks about the experiment of aging wine in space, which was carried out in November 2019. After the experiment was over, a team of scientists and tasters tasted a batch of wine and concluded that wine ages faster in space than on Earth.
The article also talks about the experiment of aging wine in the sea. It is true that this method has not been developed in Georgia, although European winemakers have been using the method of aging wine in the sea or ocean for several years now, and the demand is high.
The wine is poured into specially made clay amphorae, to which molluscs hang in the sea and give it a mystical color. Last year, an amphora covered with molluscs was sold at an auction. This method is important for attracting tourists who love diving.
The innovative service of the new tourist location "Tetra Cave" of Tskaltubo municipality, which offers tourists tasting of the wine in the cave, was also discussed.
This experiment may cause more interest among tourists who love wine tourism, as well as bring benefits to winemaking: it is possible to discover something that will make it possible even on land, in normal, traditional conditions. To speed up the process of planting trees.
