Environmental Impact Assessment of Road Construction

Abstract

Numerous international and local road construction projects are being implemented in Georgia. The arrangement of the road infrastructure is of vital importance for the development of the region and the country.

The article discusses the assessment of the impact that such activities have on the environment. As well as the types of environmental impact of road construction, the geographical (landscape) objects that are affected are identified. The environmental legislation related to the implementation of a similar type of project is outlined.
