Main Article Content
Abstract
The current level of fertility and its future prospects are of great importance for the demographic security of any country. The dynamics of fertility as one of the most important component of the natural movement of the population is considered on a global scale. Based on the theory of demographic transition, it is shown that the decline in fertility is a universal phenomenon that will cover all countries of the world. The current situation and prospects of fertility in post- Soviet Georgia have been studied and analyzed on the basis of relevant indicators and calculations. For analysis were used data recalculated by the National Statistical Office of Georgia after general population census of 2014 for 1995-2013.
