Types of Natural Disasters and Their Geographical Features

Abstract
Risk of Natural disasters are the tight connection with the community development process. Population of the world ¾ lives the territories, where are the periodic earthquakes, floods, droughts and other natural disasters (Geophysical institut, 2019). The world will observe an increase in the trend of natural disasters because of a number of factors. These factors are: global climate change, rapid population growth, natural environment degradation, man-made loads, etc.
As it is known, mountains are characterized by high risks and are characterized by unsustainable natural environment, where are any process in the environment and the consequences of extreme natural events are instantly recorded. 54% of the territory of Georgia is occupied by mountains, against this background, it becomes a contributing factors to the increase in the level of risks of natural disasters, as well as the negative socio-economic consequences.
The article discusses the geographical features of natural disasters, types of natural impacts, as well as the scale of major natural disasters, natural disasters in Georgia and some of their causes, research perspectives and the role of geographers in preventing this problem.
