Abstract

The formation and development of the demographic situation has mainly played by socio-economic and natural-geographical factors, The situation is even graver in the mountainous regions, which have quite peculiar economic, social and ecological environment. Most mountainous areas in the world have severe climatic conditions and scarce soil resources, poorly developed infrastructure, low incomes and poor developmental prospects.. Aspindza municipality also belongs to the mountainous region. This year, Aspindza municipality has been granted the status of a mountainous village in Rustavi and Khertvisi, after which all the named points in the municipality have the status of a mountainous area.

As it is known, Aspindza and Samtskhe-Javakheti as a whole were under the control of the Ottomans, which changed the development of the region to some extent, then Russia and the Soviet Union politics, and finally from the 1990s to date - socio-economic processes have distributed in the current demographic situation.
